PERIS+TORAL ARQUITECTES is an architecture studio based in Barcelona, founded in 2005 by Marta Peris and José Toral. The studio is dedicated to research into dwelling and building methods. Their theoretical and written work explores topics such as the relationship between cinema and architecture, contemporary ways of living, low-impact construction systems, and comfort.
In the academic field, Marta Peris — who holds a PhD in architecture — and José Toral are professors at the Barcelona School of Architecture (ETSAB). Both have been invited to teach at the Politecnico di Milano and, since 2024, have served as visiting professors at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). Their work has received broad international recognition, most notably the RIBA International Prize 2024.
Their work has been widely published and presented at international conferences, and their projects have been featured in exhibitions such as “Peris+Toral Wohnungsbau” — a monographic retrospective at the Kunstverein Bielefeld — as well as exhibitions at the Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine and several participations in the Venice Architecture Biennale (2016, 2025).
