The Belgian architect Vincent van Duysen offers tactility as one of his themes. The act of touching is characteristic of his approach as an architect who has designed many interiors and pieces of furniture. He uses many materials including plaster, wood, steel, glass and concrete. The simple, pure proportions and play of light and shadow in his work are born from these materials and from his sensitive handling of details. This issue details some of his work: Concordia Offices in Waregem, a Cascade for Swarovski, VVD Residences in Dendermonde and in Antwerp, and a Private Residence in Antwerp.
