Magistretti architect, between the mid-fifties and the beginning of the following decade, created works that give the measure of his controlled compositional experimentalism; Magistretti designer creates objects that today are part of the history of contemporary design.
Many successes and much success have led to Magistretti being identified with the figure of the Milanese professional, an "idealtype" for which critics and historiography, as Fulvio Irace and Vanni Pasca reiterate, have a particular affection.
The volume - complete with archival photographs, project tables and handwritten sketches - traces the multifaceted activity of Magistretti, which reflects an important part of the history of the Lombard capital, of the history of contemporary Italian architecture, as well as that of the professions and intellectual work in post-war Italy.
