This book includes texts by Mikko Heikkinen and Peter Zumthor. "There is a special feel to living in a room of solid joined beams, a room not simply clad in wood but made of wood through and through." - Peter Zumthor, the fourth recipient of the international Spirit of Nature Wood Architecture Award. This book presents three projects by him: Haus Luzi for a family of six children, realized in 2002, Haus Annalisa for Annalisa Zumthor, and Pension Briol's five 'tree houses' in southern Tyrol. Haus Annalisa and Pension Briol are still plans, and are featured with beautiful water colour sketches, models and plans which give a good idea of the designing process.
